Paul Wurth supports the 2022 National Jonk Fuerscher Contest

Last 20 March, the 51st national “Jonk Fuerscher Contest” took place at Forum Geeseknäppchen in Luxembourg. 61 young scientists (aged from 11 to 21) presented their 41 projects with topics ranging from Biology, Engineering and Medicine to Physics and Humanities. 

Paul Wurth, a sponsor of this event since 5 years, honoured three projects by an award:

• – Pierre ROTH (19), Lycée Michel Rodange (LMRL)
  “Modular Rubik’s Cube Contraption”

• – Alp Eren Baybes (17), International School of Luxembourg (ISL)
  “The effects of different synthesis methods and catalyst on crude aspirin”

• – Petra STRAGA (17), The International School Michel Lucius (ISML)
  “Bacteria with headphones” 

The laureates will participate in the Taiwan International Science Fair (TISF), organized by National Taiwan Science Education Center (NTSEC). It is a science research competition held annually in Taipei, Taiwan.

This year, the contest was back at full strength in a format that allowed young scientists to present their projects and in the presence of the public. Prior to the contest, Paul Wurth InCub organised different workshops with the young scientists on ideation, the art of presenting and speaking on stage to prepare them best for their performance.

Once again, Paul Wurth was pleased to help this young generation in their projects and we hope to see some of these talents joining our workforce in the near future.
