CO-OPERATION AGREEMENT SIGNED BETWEEN PAUL WURTH AND CHINA STEEL CORPORATION

Co-operation agreement signed between Paul Wurth and China Steel Corporation

On 8 April 2015, Paul Wurth S.A. and the Taiwan-based steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) signed a Co-operation Agreement in the field of upcoming ironmaking plant construction projects in the Southeast Asian region, including material handling, sinter plants, blast furnaces and direct reduction plants.

Both parties decided to take joint efforts in order to promote the development of the Asian ironmaking industry according to a common marketing strategy and to co-operate on a non-exclusive basis for projects to be implemented in the region. By pooling their respective engineering and operational expertise, this co-operation could take place, case by case, on a consortium basis or in a subcontractor relationship.

While CSC undertakes to use exclusively Paul Wurth technology and know-how for projects to be realised under this agreement, CSC shall provide customer training services, consulting and supervision services as well as specific detail engineering services.

This agreement is the result of an already long-term relationship between both partners. Indeed, CSC, the largest steelmaker in Taiwan, has been adopting Paul Wurth advanced blast furnace technology since the beginning of the 1970ies.
