INTERNSHIP / THESIS FOR BACHELOR OR MASTER STUDENT (M/W) - PILOT PLANT TESTS AND LITERATURE REVIEW FOR DEFINITION OF A SINTER STRAND CHARGING SYSTEM

Currently, our “Agglomeration” department in Luxembourg is offering an internship / thesis of about 6 months on the following subject:

Our requirements:

  • You are a Bachelor or Master Student in chemistry, metallurgy or mechanical engineering with focus on mechanical process equipment
  • You are fluent in English; German and/or French as additional languages are an advantage
  • You should be a self-motivated person and have good presentation skills
  • You are used in literature research and have access to a university library
  • You are familiar with test activities
  • You are structured in your work and strictly follow safe work standards.

Your mission:

  • Literature study of existing sinter strand charging systems
  • Technical and economical comparison of the different systems (ease of operation and maintenance, impact on operation cost, invest, layout…)
  • Examination of literature data with respect to operational parameters of these systems
  • Operation of the test plant
  • Realisation of test series with 2 different charging systems in order to check impact on above mentioned parameters
  • Experimental definition of the optimum working parameters
  • Establishment of a typical industrial configuration including layout
  • Analysis and interpretation of the test results
  • Elaboration of reports to document experimental results
  • Establishment of CAPEX/OPEX figures
  • Elaboration of a marketing presentation.
