INTERNSHIP OR THESIS FOR BACHELOR STUDENT (M/W) - STUDY OF BLEEDER VALVE ACTUATION SYSTEM FOR BLAST FURNACE UPTAKES

We are currently proposing a Bachelor thesis of about 3-6 months on the following subject:

Main topics:

The purpose of the Bachelor thesis is in first step to analyse the existing solution with an hydraulically actuated opening mechanism and an alternative with an electrical-mechanical drive unit. A technical-economical comparison has to be elaborated in order to asses if the electrical drive for a bleeder valve is a real alternative or not.

The second step would be to redesign the drives, find and compare suppliers.

Your profile:

  • You are a Bachelor student in mechanical engineering
  • You are fluent in English; German and/or French as additional languages are an advantage
  • Proficiency in solid modelling with Creo Parametric 2.0 or similar
  • You should have a high degree of initiative and responsibility and willingness to fully invest yourself in the assigned projects
  • You are able to work in a professional and independent manner and to quickly integrate yourself in a dynamic multinational team.
